Stall Booking – 2025

Sherfield Fête takes place on our 8.5 acre village green, with ample parking and village amenities nearby. We aim for a traditional village fête atmosphere, with a featured theme each year which informs our choice of lead attractions. In 2025 this is the English Civil War, and our lead attraction is The Sealed Knot, the largest re-enactment society in Europe.

Our aim is to have a wide range of stalls offering goods for sale, amusements, and information. The fête is particularly keen to encourage the presence of small scale independent traders, offering home-made or hand finished craft items of all descriptions. Market traders and car boot type stalls will not be accepted. To avoid competition between stalls we try to limit similar stalls to two. For similar reasons we also limit the number of charity stalls. To avoid disappointment it is important you submit your request early. Bookings will close between one and two weeks ahead of the event. Please aim to submit your request before the last week of May.

Standard outdoor pitches measure 6m x 4m, and cost £35. Multiple or larger pitches can be made available on request and will be charged proportionately. Groups (0-5s, Scouts, etc.) that are based locally and individuals living in the immediate locality qualify for a reduced pitch fee of £17.50, and we may also at our discretion reduce or waive pitch fees for charitable or non-profit stalls (e.g. those providing information only). If you would like to be considered for any of these options, please indicate by choosing a relevant stall class, and if appropriate explain using the additional information field at the end of the form. Similarly, if you would like your pitch to be in a particular area, or next to another entrant’s, please state this on the booking form.

Note that our standard pitches are not available for the sale of food or drink of any description for consumption at the fete. Instead, please request a catering concession by choosing the Catering Outlet class, and submit the form with details of the nature of your offering, bearing in mind that catering outlets may not offer alcoholic beverages. We will contact you to discuss the suitability of your offer and to negotiate an appropriate fee.

As usual you are welcome to furnish your pitch with your own gazebo, tables, chairs, etc. You may also hire tables (2m x 1m) through us, which must be booked in advance. There is a fee for each table, which we simply pass on from our supplier.

Stand-alone generators are not permitted, for the comfort of other stallholders and visitors. If you need mains electrical power, we can supply one or more sockets to a limited number of pitches. A fee is payable for each socket. To assist us in planning the electrical provision, please let us know what type of equipment you propose to use and how much load (kW) it will generate.

Note that we do not provide waste disposal facilities, so stallholders must make arrangements to collect and dispose of any waste that arises from their stalls. Your co-operation with this will save us several hundred pounds of expense and allow us to donate more to our good causes. Please recycle as much as possible.

To request your place please complete the form below – required fields are marked with an asterisk. Where relevant, we may need to see your Public Liability Insurance Certificate, Food Hygiene Certificate and/or Risk Assessment, and if this is the case, we will notify you and request copies by email.

Please be sure to read our Terms and Conditions – note particularly the provisions regarding cancellation and waste disposal – and indicate your acceptance on the form.

If we accept your booking request we will calculate the total fee due and contact you with a request for payment by bank transfer.
